Bit further from downtown but so worth it. Free parking, free WiFi (although it doesn’t work from the first half an hour, it will though. Connect and leave your phone somewhere, don’t stress about it, find something else to do and after a while it will magically connect :) ) The rooms are spik and span, the cleanest we have encountered so far. They offer all the amenities: microwave, coffee maker, mini-fridge, little soaps and shampoo bottles, a big table with two chairs if you want a romantic night dine-in, you just have to get some food either delivered or from the shopping centre two minutes from the inn. Plenty of peace and quiet. Andy, the front desk manager and his wife are very helpful, sweet and respectful. If you need anything he is always there and will help. We needed some disposable plates, cutlery and corkscrew, he had it. We even needed a screwdriver, he had two ( :) )He is a great host and the place he runs is somewhere you want to be if you’re looking for tranquility, old-school motel vibe, spotless clean rooms, housekeeping service every day, fresh and pure forest air and best of all: great value for money really.

I recently stayed at this small 2-star hotel in Monterey, California, and was really impressed with what it offered for the price. With only 20-30 rooms, it has a cozy, boutique feel. The check-in staff were incredibly warm and friendly, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and much better than expected for the price. The hotel is located in a safe neighborhood, and I even saw families with children staying there, so safety is clearly not a concern. It’s a great option for anyone looking for a budget-friendly stay in Monterey without sacrificing comfort. Highly recommend this place for travelers who want a comfortable, affordable, and secure stay!

Andy at the front desk was very friendly upon check-in. We had stayed earlier in the year and had the same room again, which was great for us. Room was clean. There was complimentary bottled water and granola bars in the room. Room had a table and two chairs for eating in the room and playing cards. Bed was comfortable. Convenient to freeway with a shopping center across the street. Cannery Row and the Aquarium was about 7 minutes away by car, Carmel was 7 minutes, Point Lobos was about 12 minutes south, and Lover's Point Beach was 10 minutes away. We found Pacific St. to be the easiest way to get down to the Cannery Row area.

This was our 3rd trip to the Monterey Pines Inn this year, and for us, find the location to be convenient to Highway 1, with a good price, and friendly service from the manager, Andy. The property and room is small, but the room was clean, with nice towels and extra blankets, along with some bottled water and granola bars. There is a microwave, mini fridge, and a table with 2 chairs. The Del Monte Shopping Center is across the street, with 70 stores, including a Whole Foods, Macy's and Potterybarn, plus a movie theater, and several restaurants.

Ok, please remember that it's not Marriott or Sheraton hotel. It's a 2 star motel (and an old one), so please don't expect some fancy room with new decor. Like I said, it's an old property. The rooms are on a smaller side, but everything worked fine. There was a small fridge/micro and a coffee machine in a room. The room was very clean. Very. Nice white towels. Toiletries. And even bottled water/granola bars.
